From Injury Prevention Coordinators


Injury occurs everyday, but it is preventable. You can find ways to reduce injury in your home, school, work, and community.
Injury prevention coordinators across the state of NC want you to know that traumatic injury can be reduced.
The mission of injury prevention coordinators is to bring awareness to the injuries that can, and do, occur, and provide information and education on how to prevent injuries.
There are trauma centers across the state of North Carolina who offer education and information regarding injury prevention topics specific to this great state. Our job is to connect you with the information you need to keep you and your family safe.
Through injury prevention and health promotion, injury prevention coordinators across the state hope to improve the health of our communities. Even a single traumatic injury can lead to other health problems.

Injury prevention coordinators also work in trauma centers, and their focus is teaching people how to avoid serious injury. Injury prevention specialists understand that accidents are not planned, and cannot always be avoided, but there are steps that can be taken to avoid a serious injury when an accident occurs.
Some of the most common injuries seen in trauma centers are from falls, motor vehicle accidents, bike and pedestrian accidents, and assaults of different types. This website will offer information and links to information to help prevent a severe wound if an accident does occur.
